Project Overview
The IDEAS Hub at UWCSEA Dover is a dynamic makerspace created to inspire and equip young people to develop creative, practical, and sustainable solutions to real-world challenges. Through hands-on activities like coding, robotics, woodworking, and filmmaking, the Hub promotes innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving in a structured yet explorative environment.
Beneficiary Profile
The Hub primarily serves youth aged 11–18 from across Singapore, including UWCSEA’s highly diverse student body—comprising over 114 nationalities—and local school participants. Events like ideaHacks draw in secondary school students from various backgrounds, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and peer learning.
Safavi's Role
Safavi directly funded the construction of the IDEAS Hub facility at UWCSEA’s Dover Campus. This contribution enabled the creation of a dedicated, well-equipped space that supports UWCSEA’s broader educational mission. Safavi’s support made possible the physical and operational foundation from which numerous youth innovation programs have since been launched.

Impact Achieved
The IDEAS Hub has catalyzed a culture of youth-driven innovation, notably through its signature event, ideaHacks—a hackathon that in its latest edition engaged 60 students in tech-driven problem-solving. Projects ranged from gamified gardening apps to AI-powered communication tools for the hearing-impaired, showcasing advanced applications of IoT and machine learning. The Hub has become a cornerstone for dozens of maker activities and workshops that serve hundreds of students annually.
