Project Overview

Project Soar empowers adolescent girls in Morocco through a comprehensive curriculum built around five core pillars: Value, Voice, Body, Rights, and Path. The initiative addresses critical gaps in education, confidence-building, leadership skills, and access to safe spaces, health education, arts, and athletics—challenges particularly acute for girls in semi-rural and rural communities.
Beneficiary Profile
The program serves adolescent girls in semi-rural and rural Moroccan communities, where early marriage, school dropouts, and limited access to extracurricular learning are common. These girls often live in large families with limited financial means and restricted access to language instruction, arts, and sports. The initiative aims to support their educational journey and personal development.
Safavi's Role
Safavi supports Project Soar as a partner funder, enabling the implementation and expansion of the program across Morocco. The support facilitates delivery of empowerment curricula, exam prep, language and tutoring classes, extracurricular clubs, and health education. Through strategic funding, Safavi empowers local Moroccan educators and mentors to run the initiative at multiple sites.

It has provided high school exam prep, tutoring, language classes, sports, arts, and leadership training to hundreds of girls. Notable impacts include higher school retention rates, increased confidence, improved academic performance, and stronger life planning among participants.
Purpose & Signifigance
This initiative aligns with Safavi’s commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women through education and leadership development. By investing in Project Soar, Safavi addresses structural barriers facing Moroccan girls and helps break the cycle of poverty and early marriage. The program reinforces the belief that empowered girls become transformative agents in their communities.
Future Outlook
With momentum from its expanding satellite model, Project Soar aims to reach even more girls across underserved regions. Safavi plans to continue its support to help scale the initiative and deepen its impact, potentially integrating additional digital resources and localized mentorship to further enhance learning and empowerment opportunities.
