Project Overview

The AIT Cooperative Initiative represents a forward-thinking partnership between the Safavi Impact Institute and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Austria’s leading non-university research organization. This initiative addresses the fragmented and inefficient nature of migrant support services by creating a unified, modern digital data space, designed to streamline multi-stakeholder processes and better serve migrant communities across Austria.
Beneficiary Profile
The initiative serves all stakeholders in the migrant support ecosystem in Austria—including displaced individuals (especially from Ukraine and other conflict-affected areas), public authorities, NGOs, and private organizations. By improving data flow and process coordination among these actors, the initiative ensures that migrants receive faster, more targeted, and more effective support services.
Safavi's Role
As a philanthropic and strategic partner, the Safavi Impact Institute collaborates with AIT by supporting cooperative research and innovation aimed at digitalizing and modernizing migrant support infrastructure. This includes:
Participating in the design of a new data space to coordinate efforts across stakeholders
Advocating for practical, scalable solutions grounded in both human need and technological possibility
Promoting a framework of compassion, empowerment, and inclusivity in all development discussions

Purpose & Signifigance
This partnership exemplifies Safavi’s belief in systems-level change. While many initiatives focus on direct aid, the AIT Cooperative represents a commitment to addressing the structural inefficiencies that often undermine migrant support. Through technological innovation and compassionate design, this project aims to enable smarter, faster, more equitable services for migrants, benefiting both individuals and the broader Austrian society.
